Little Athletics
McDonald’s has teamed up with Little Athletics to show kids that athletics isn’t just about winning medals, it can also be lots of fun.
Developed by the Athletic Association of Ireland, Little Athletics is for 5 - 10 year olds and introduces the fundamentals of athletic movement to children in a fun, exciting and non-competitive environment.
Experts have pinpointed this age range as the fundamental stage in the development of skills such as agility, co-ordination and balance which will contribute greatly to future sporting achievements.
Little Athletics centres on the use of games to get fit in a fun way using hurdles, obstacles, foam javelins and hula-hoops to encourage tumbling, running, throwing, hopping and jumping.
