Our CSR Policy

Employment Practices

Photo of staff members having a meetingIt’s no coincidence that McDonald’s Ireland has been included in the Top 50 Best Workplaces 2010 for six years running.

We work hard to make sure our people feel valued and accepted at work. That’s why we promote a respectful, friendly working environment where people can develop their personal and professional skills and enjoy real job satisfaction.

Equal Opportunities

We are an equal opportunities employer. We hire people of all ages and backgrounds.
We also work with the Rehab group to train our managers in the recruitment and training of people with disabilities so we can give them the support they need to reach their potential. Rehab - Investing in People, Changing Perspectives

McDonald’s Ireland is proud to have over 40 different nationalities working in our restaurants around the country. As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that working in McDonald’s is a positive experience for all of our staff, we are sponsoring a PhD research project at DCU called Working and Managing in an Intercultural Workplace.

We hope this research will benefit our staff and we will share its findings with other employers, so we can all move forward together.

Fair Pay

We offer fair pay to all of our employees. Our starting pay is above the minimum wage and this increases as team members take on more responsibility.

Learning, Development and Personal Growth

The training we offer our crew and managers helps them develop skills such as:

  • Teamwork
  • Customer service
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • A work ethic that they can take into both their professional and private lives

Employee Scholarship Programme

Our Employee Scholarship Programme encourages and rewards people who want to further their education. Every year, 16 McDonald’s employees receive €1,500 towards their education costs. To date, we have contributed more than €170,000 to this initiative.
